With the successful completion of this year’s Homearama (a large-scale, annual event where local home builders and designers construct and decorate model homes for the public to view), several local homebuilders and designers came together to donate proceeds from the event to Richmond Metropolitan Habitat for Humanity. In total, the Home Building Association of Richmond donated $16,044 towards building safe, affordable housing in the Greater Richmond area.
“The Home Building Association of Richmond chose Richmond Habitat for Humanity for our 2014 Homearama Charity Partner. The Home Building Association works every day to protect the American Dream of Homeownership while Richmond Habitat for Humanity makes that dream come true for families experiencing hard times. We couldn’t be happier with our partnership with Richmond Habitat for Humanity and the benefit of homeownership that our contribution will provide to a family in need.” said Craig Toalson, Chief Executive Officer of the Home Building Association of Richmond and planner of their annual Homearama event.
Donors include the Home Building Association of Richmond, iStar Residential, Young House Love, Ray A Williams Custom Homes, Biringer Builders, Becker & Calliott Marketing, Harring Construction Co., LifeStyle Builders & Developers, Inc., LeGault Homes, and Southern Traditions, LLC.
“We couldn’t be more grateful to everyone involved in this year’s Homearama event,” said Jane Helfrich, Chief Executive Officer at Richmond Metropolitan Habitat for Humanity, “Working alongside our fellow home builders and seeing the compassion they have for our community and our mission of providing affordable housing to hardworking families in our community is truly amazing!”
Funding from this year’s Homearama will be used to help Richmond Metropolitan Habitat for Humanity construct a home for a local partner family.
